What IS the PATT Foundation? |
The PATT Foundation is a charity registered in the UK. We currently work within Asia to campaign for better environmental practices, take action against climate change, implement small to medium tree planting projects as well as provide funding for partner projects, set up school tree nurseries and provide environmental education, and fund community development projects in rural communities centred on tree planting and reforestation.

Where does my donation go? |
If you donate to plant a tree, your tree will be planted in one of our projects in Thailand. The actual location and project depends on many factors including the time of donation, whether the project is fully funded yet or not, and whether your tree is part of the Carbon Free programme. Please see our projects page for more information on these. We hope that in the future we can give you the choice of a number of locations around the world to plant your trees.
Our audit procedures guarantee that a physical asset does actually get planted in the ground. The projects that are listed go through a vetting procedure to ensure suitability for inclusion in the PATT programme.
If you make a simple cash donation to PATT, we will use your funds to help with adminstration costs that we face so that we can continue our work to reforest the earth, combat climate change, and educate children on environmental issues.

Does PATT have the ability to offset carbon emissions? |
| PATT has developed an offset programme called Carbon Free. This is based around voluntary forest offsets. We have a simple calculator on our website under www.plant-a-tree-today.org/carbonfree which helps you plant trees to offset your lifestyle, your car, or a flight. Alternatively, we can help companies or organisations determine their simple carbon footprint and plant trees to offset that. |

Is my donation tax deductible? |
PATT is a charity registered with the Charities Commission of England and Wales. If you are a UK taxpayer or a UK company, you are eligible for tax relief on donations. Please inform us when making a donation that you are a UK taxpayer.
Most countries have legislation which allows allow charitable investments at certain levels to be offset against taxation.
We recommend that you seek professional advice when making a charitable contribution as to your individual or corporate tax position.

Most certainly and subject to our vetting procedures, we are striving to have projects in as many locations as possible.This will eventually give the individual donor, where possible, the option to direct their donation to the project of choice.

If you are interested in assisting the PATT Foundation on a voluntary basis, please contact us as we are happy to have assistance from like-minded individuals across the globe, who want to put something back into the earth that has given us so much and leave a positive legacy for our future generations.

What type of projects does PATT plant my trees in? |
PATT works with experienced and reputable local organisations to develop suitable, sustainable projects based on principles of conservation. Our projects always engage local people as key stakeholders and incorporate their interests at all times. We plant forest restoration projects on protected land aimed at regenerating degraded land back to its original condition.
Where possible PATT strives to link reforestation with sustainable economic initiatives for local people from poor rural communities. In addition, our projects can act as education resources for children and integrate with our environmental education programmes.
PATT has one project based around sustainable economic development and renewable energy sources in Chiang Rai in Thailand. This is our only 'plantation' style project and does not fall under our Carbon Free banner.
Otherwise PATT does not support 'plantation' and timber harvesting projects. |
